Shot through the hope

Velma Hart "Exhausted" By Obama; GOP Licks Its Chops - The Daily Beast:

"I'm exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right now," said Velma Hart at President Obama's economic town hall in Washington D.C. Monday.

Velma Hart is the GOP's new hero. To be honest, I think she's said exactly what President Obama needed to hear, what I fear is that her genuine honesty will be turned into a new angle in an arena where integrity and truth are rare occurrences.

Velma Hart drilled President Obama, she absolutely put the hammer down on him. I'm sure that she was not intending to do so, but her opening and the responses that followed absolutely cut through the talking points and the political rhetoric.

I understand where Velma is coming from, I'm exhausted of defending the President, and I didn't even vote for him. I'm exhausted at the vehemence of the assault from the right, some if it true, some of it half-truth, some of it just false. I'm exhausted at the thought of 2.5 more years of this tired political theater where nothing gets accomplished. But most of all, I'm exhausted by the same political rhetoric and the same political games coming out of DC, I'm exhausted by the fact that only change we've seen is a drastic increase in the level of partisan bickering and hatred.

I hear you Velma, I just hope the Government hears you too.
