Giuliani stretching the truth

Apparently Mr. Giuliani has been touting his record on eliminating taxes to drum up support in the fiscal conservative arena. He's been taking credit for eliminating over 20 unique taxes during his mayoral reign over the Big Apple. Unfortunately for Rudy, he was only responsible for 15 of them, and even tried to maintain one of the taxes he's now taking credit for repealing. Why must politicians lie so often?
